Untitled No..4i

Untitled No.4J
The fouth and final painting from my 10th, and most recent, series of mini-abstracts. This is an experiment in form, as well as colour.
The almost monochrome rectangular sections are well-contrasted with the deep blue which forms the main part of the background (as do the smaller orange and yellow flake-like sections.) There is also a nice visual “fade” within these sections, with the white lines against the grey gradually merging into the grey lines against the white.
The grey and white “Swirls” add movement, and the white details on the main off-centre section give a nice sense of development as they gradually “morph” into the shell-like sections at the bottom, and into the aforementioned orange and yellow “flakes” at the top.
Series J/Painting 4 (2017) Acrylic on Canvas 12” X 16”
