Untitled No.1j

Untitled No.Ij
The first painting from my 10th, and most recent, series of mini-abstracts. This piece is a continuation of a more angular approach, with a strong contrast between background and foreground.
The background of sandy-brown and white provides an effective platform for the dark blues in the foreground (themselves nicely contrasted by the white highlights. These sections create a rather dramatic look as, while beginning in a strong, linear fashion, appear to disintegrate towards the top.
The “swirling” sections, appear to weave in and around the main sections, thus giving a nice impression of movement, adding up to a personal favourite of my own work.
Series J/Painting 1 (2017) Acrylic on Canvas 12” X 16”
