Paintings
Untitled No.88
This is the first work from my 14th series of abstracts.
For this set I wanted to continue exploring colour and depth, as well as space. To this end I decided to abandon the background patterns and motifs of previous series. The results not only gave the desired sense of space to my work but no depth was lost: Indeed, these 2007-2008 pieces comprise some of my most multi-layered work.
I also wanted to continue working in three dimensions and to develop a sense of fine detail.
With this in mind, this painting, perhaps more than any other could be best described as a statement of intent – a visual overture.
Series 14/Painting 1 (2007) Acrylic on Canvas 20” X 24”
