The final painting from my 15th series of abstracts.
This piece experiments with space and structure, with some sections densely textured while others are left relatively sparse.
It also experiments with depth, e.g. the highlighting in the main section, which builds up layer by layer, but with smaller details applied each time, creating a “shimmering effect, which appears to be shining from a great distance. (as well as developing the idea - a theme for this series - of sections appearing to emerge from one layer to the next).
For me, this is one of my most unusual, yet effective pieces
